Hey

I changed my phone from S10+ to S22.

When I transfered all my data to the new phone, it only transfered entries from max 3 years ago.

It is very important for me that all my calendar data in transfered.

How can I sync the entire calendar tonthe new phone?

This problem is kinda funny.

I just want to copy the entire calendar. I used Samsung swich, it worked just fine, but it only copied entries for about 3 years. Why?

It just happened to be the exact amount of time that I used my previous phone. So it copied only the amount of entries in the calendar with my previous phone (from 2019-2022), but it makes no sense why only that. The entries are the same, it makes no difference and no sense to copy only that. I dont even mind the sync, I just want to copy data....

Why is this happenin...

Did you ever say what Calendar you are using, Google, Samsung.. some other calendar?

Also, if Smart Switch did restore your calendar data, and you said that it was about the same time as you had your previous phone, it can only restore what was backed up obviously.

If the years beyond the last 3 were on a different device, and weren't backed up with Smart Switch.. it's not going to happen.

But as I've said, a couple of times here, I have the last 5 years of calendar data using Google Calendar, and that's Synced from Google with my Google account.

If you have your calendar on a computer, and it's the full time period, you could see if it's possible to import it to your phone. ie: into Google Calendar.

I am using normal Calendar, preinstalled on my Samsung.

My previous phone had entries from many years before. When I got a new phone, I just used Samsung switch, everything got copied and then I just continued adding more entries to the Calendar.

And now this.

I really dont get it, why I cannot just simply transfer all the data. Sync is really not important here, it is actually more of this Switch app problem, because it only copied a limited amount od data. On my previous phone I was able to copy more data, like everything.

See what is in the screen shot.

Don't know what you thought you backed up with Smart Switch?

Sync is important.

If I were you, I would definitely switch to Google's Calendar.

I don't have any issues with getting my Calendar data using Google's Calendar.

I get that you don't like what I am saying, but it's obviously up to you what you want to believe.

Problem solved, in a way that I wanted.

Nothing else helped, but an app Copy my data.

It works like magic, I just marked copy my calendar and everything went from one phone to another, all 10 years of data.

Magic.

Thanks anyway guys, I hope this helps anyone else.

Yeah, been researching this issue for a while. Tired of ppl treating others like idiots. Samsung users didn't sign up for using a diff google calendar account. Samsung new phones are setting up the private calendar settings and unless you know to look for it or notice that your entries are not showing up on your google calendar desktop too, you probably wouldn't notice! Such a pain in the bottom!

Since I got my Galaxy ultra 21, my google calendar entries have not been shared to my gmail account... About 1.5yrs now! So I will try the app you mentioned. Thanks for that! Google should make it easier to take in these Samsung events because they are created using the Google Calendar app installed on my Samsung phone. And why Samsung thinks it's a feature to make their own calendar when I've already logged into a gmail account it beyond me! They just screwed me over. I used my calendar app to remind me of everything!!! And I want it saved for years to come on the cloud thru Google all in one searchable place, like my diary.

I found one Copy my Data app thru andriod and it blindly copies data to google drive. I set it to only copy calendar, but it didn't move to google acct.

I need to find an app to copy my 1.5yrs of data from my Samsung "My Calendar" to my google acct. This is all down thru the Google Calendar app that is pre-installed thru the phone thru Samsung. I guess the best work around is to try to disable the default app and download from the playstore so this doesn't happen anymore???

But still can't file app/ download/export solution to get my calendar off my phone and then import to google calendar gmail acct...

I had a similar issue - events in my Samsung Calendar app weren't syncing for a distant future. It was syncing events for a few months in advance, but not the ones for about year and a half in the future (except recurring events, which synced fine even for a few years ahead of time).

So, I tried the app you suggested (Copy My Data) and it kinda worked, but not the way I expected. I use several accounts in my calendar (a few Google accounts, Samsung account and an internal phone calendar), and the app picked events from them all for as many years ahead as I could check, but it put all the events into the internal phone calendar in the destination device.

So, those who might want to use this app - just keep in mind that in fact it doesn't really work, unless you are ok that all the events will be moved from whatever calendar they're on to the internal phone calendar.

As to the original problem I (and the topic starter) had - it's not resolved so far. Apparently, Samsung Calendar doesn't sync all the events both in the past and in the future, but just within some timeframe (I suppose one year ahead in time and a few years back in time). That is so frustrating. I have an important event in a year and a half from now which I really don't want to miss and I hope that when it's less than 1 year away it will get synced in.

The issue depends on the Android calendars sync, so it doesn't matter if you use Samsung Calendar or Google Calendar because they both rely on the sync engine that Android provides. This has the limitation of syncing the last 12 months.

However, if you use a different app that connects directly to the Google Calendar API you'll have access to the whole event list, without needing to copy the events manually.

For example I use CalenGoo (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.calengoo.android) which is not free but has a trial version and, most importantly, doesn't require a subscription. With it you can log it with your Google account instead of using the Android calendars and see/edit the whole list of past events just like when you use the Google web interface.

Try it!
