Galaxy SHi
In 2019 there was an official announcement by Samsung regarding the unlocking of the rest of S10 series by an OTA update to support 25W supercharger (not just the S10 5G). I have not been able to find if this indeed happened.
Anyone aware of this?
Thanks

Galaxy SThere's this information from Samsung, November 20th, 2020. It doesn't mention the output of the charging block though, just Fast Charging.
You may find this 2nd link more informative, particularly the post which states that "super fast" charging can NOT be enabled with a software update, because it's a hardware limitation.
As a side note, your S10 is getting close to 3 years old, and from what I've experienced, the battery is likely starting to lose some of it's "health", & I would think that faster charging will only accelerate it's deterioration.
Personally, if it was my device, I'd rather extend the battery's life by NOT using fast charging.

Galaxy SThanks for the response.
I had already seen the 2 links. The first one is just that you have a toggle in battery settings for fast charging (i.e. quick charge 2.0 with 15w adapter) which is enabled by default anyway.
The second link, yes it can be done by software update but from my research it was only going to be done in China . And it was officially announced by Samsung that the next OTA would include Super night mode and 25W capability. If they announced it, it certainly didn't mean that they would take our phones and change the hardware.
The reason I came here to ask the question is because after 30 min of chat with Samsung tech support they told me the 25W was compatible. Even after I pointed out that the 25W charger came up as an accessory for S10 series but in the fine print it says : for S10 series (Note 10+ and S10 5G and later models) and asked why the contradictory information, they said there was no contradiction. BTW the person went to check info 3 times.
After I closed the chat I thought that they either want you to believe it will superfast charge so you buy it or they really don't care and for them it's compatible because you will only be charging at the set capacity of the phone at 15W thus waste of money.

Galaxy SSamsung Support Chat is clueless. These are the same people who have said, repeatedly in the past that Samsung Canada was "definitely going to receive the One UI Betas".
What I have seen is that it's definitely a hardware, ie: battery hardware design issue that no firmware update can change.
You don't have to look further than Samsung Members Notice saying that ONLY the S21 series is eligible for One UI V4.0. Clueless as I've said.
