In previous SFC2.0 implementations, SFC2.0 required a 5A cable. However, with the S25+ and S25U, SFC2.0 now should work with thinner cables using 15V3A. However, as shown in this video, the S25 fails to negotiate 15V. As such, it fails to use SFC2.0 on a 3A cable.

Hi 42Seb,

Thank you for sharing your observations regarding Super Fast Charging 2.0 (SFC 2.0) on the Galaxy S25 series. The S25+ and S25 Ultra are designed to support 15V at 3A to enable fast charging with thinner cables, but if the device is not negotiating 15V properly, this could be due to charger compatibility, cable specifications.

To ensure optimal charging performance, please try the following:

Use an official Samsung 45W charger that supports SFC 2.0.

Verify that your cable supports USB-C Power Delivery (PD) with PPS and is rated for 3A or 5A charging.

Test with a 5A cable to determine if the issue is specific to 3A cables.

If the issue continues, we encourage you to submit feedback via Samsung Members with system logs, so our team can investigate further.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I replicated this issue across various chargers all of which supported 15V3A charging. The cable is irrelevant; the phone is not negotiating 15V. I'm using the cable that came with my S25+ for testing purposes. I'd love to use a Samsung 45W charger, but no such charger was included in the box so I'm using various other chargers I already own. (again, all of which support PD standard and 15V3A)

Do your homework before replying. Samsung stated days ago that this is a software bug.

This is a known bug that is allegedly resolved with the upcoming update.

I really hope you're correct. I did see some issues with charging in relation to it not working with 5A but working with 3A but I'm not sure that's the same issue. Perhaps it is; I really hope this gets fixed. The phone specifications show it is able to work with 15V3A and it was sold as such. Currently, this doesn't seem to be the case.

UPDATE: The February patch partially fixed this. The phone now uses SFC2.0 on some chargers with a 3A cable however it seems this is done thru PPS instead of PD 15V3A. As a result, a Chromebook charger will NOT engage the 15V3A profile and utilize SFC2.0
