My "story" about my phone has finally concluded.
The first part was written here https://community.samsungmembers.com/fr_CA?projectId=0&meta=#/post?postId=344283

I shipped them my "water-damaged" S7 exactly one week and 3 hours ago. I didn't hear back until today.

I was right about the rush job at the MTL service center. How do I know? Well, I received this morning by FedEx a brand-new S7 with a letter from the support that thanked me for being a loyal customer and instructed me to send them my old phone, which is funny since they already have it.

In the end, the story finished happily with me having back my beloved S7. Another funny detail was that they sent me a Black Onyx S7 while the box says Silver Titanium, which I wouldn't mind have received.

Big thanks to our super mod Wonchul. Without him, I'd still be stuck without a phone (especially since my friend's J3 2016 cannot show the InCall UI. But that doesn't matter anymore haha)

Oh it wasn't actually so bad. It still had S Themes, Android 7.1.1 with Experience 8.5 (Note 8), an AMOLED screen...It ran all the apps I needed besides games, videos and Office. Only thing I really missed was the camera and AOD, and calling of course.

Congrats!! How many people can say their OEM replaced their water damaged phone with a new phone, while also that being a old model??!

It's a service that's above and beyond! We always expect this fantastic service from Samsung, especially considering their flagships are very expensive than any other Android OEMs, and their recent flagships are more expensive than Apple.

Also, Black Onyx is a much better color than Silver. "Black color is what resembles elegance while being not too flashy, and Silver is a hideous color you would get when you let mobile stock worker pick the color for you! '-Android Authority. Though I think it depends on individual people, I agree with their consensus after owning several different color phones.

Anyway,
Enjoy your new phone!! Don't forget to wholeheartedly thank Samsung :)

Indeed that was great support from Samsung. I didn't find anyone online who got LG, Google, Lenovo or Apple to fix a case like mine.

I have found the Silver model to look great when I tested it at Costco (when they still sold S series unlocked there) but black is indeed the most adaptable color (that and dark blue colors, between the blue SIII and the blue A5 2015)

And don't worry, I'll be thanking them by upgrading to their latest flagship once my contract is over!

I have to agree .... well pleased that you got your satisfaction after such a up hill struggle.
I still have my S7 edge and love it, it's still a very good phone which in my mind goes to prove just how good Samsung phones are.
