since the update I have lost my customized text message notifications/ringtone for my contacts. unable to find how to restore this option.

You can't, Samsung changed it for now, but you can download a third party messaging app for now

@yurgs9 I'm using Evolve SMS - it has customizable notifications for specific contacts (great themes too) others are using Google Messaging 🐧

custom notification no longer work there was an update but every time I deleted a text the contacts custom notification gets reset to default
