I did an S23 ultra trade in and it has been the WORST EXPERIENCE i have EVER had dealing with any company and its a scam...i sent in my 1 year old s22 ultra that was in pristine condition and took 14 pictures from every angle of the front and back of the phone plus the packing and boxing because I was warned of Samsungs behavior with trade in customers and they claimed it was not up to the condition described...what a pile of...... this is the final straw, every product we have, 2 samung TVs 3 tablets a double oven ,tabs, 3 phones and now despite not wanting to we are going to drift into the Apple environment because we are constantly fighting with samsung

Sorry to hear your experience, I had a similar experience as well with my S22 Ultra. Thankfully I was still within my return window and decided to return the S23 Ultra and have my S22 Ultra returned to me. In hindsight I'm glad I saved my money on the S23 Ultra because after using the S23 Ultra for about 10 days I honestly don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I guess Samsung expects you to keep your phone in the box to qualify for trade-in when new phones are released.

I did phone trade in and Samsung down lowered my phone trade in value afterwards, saying was damage to the phone that I don't think was there. Then they charged me extra because my payment failed because the credit card I used for new device wasn't supported, nowhere does that say anywhere. Found that out after multiple calls that they don't accept with Capital One or Amex

This is my post in another thread - never trade in any phone with value - buy a burner phone expecting to just get the trade in bonus ..... Your not alone though there is huge problems with the trade In .., my story

from Samsung trade in at all costs

I traded in an 11 month old s22 plus still under Samsung care plus. They devalued it to zero claiming liquid damage and sent a weird picture of what looks like someone holding paper.up to shade the phone as their proof

Despite many requests to check again and pictures of the phone went sent .... Samsung refused to respond or just pause their 14 days to accept or decline

They did suggest in writing that I just accept zero for it to protect the trade in bonus.

I get the phone back and In person take it to a Samsung corporate store. Their manager examines it , takes it partially apart to check some white strip and does a full pixel test. No trace of any damage or water found at all. I show the picture Samsung relied on and it was a **bleep** is that reaction

He emails confirmation and sends pictures in

At that point you'd think Samsung would just accept they screwed up. b
But No - they double down

Samsung emails me that if I feel that strongly that they made an error I can begin all over again and Samsung at their sole discretion will decide if they will agree and ... Wait for it ... They will inspect for anything they deem as damage

They state they have been directed to do this and are not allowed to change that. The integrity of the trade in program depends on it.

I had offered them 2 options - take back my new phone for a full refund and I would gladly walk away or take back the trade in based on their own managers inspection and apply the trade in and I would gladly walk away

Samsung has refused.

Their product is good - their service is horrible and they have zero senior leadership.

One would think once their own staff said .. yah we made a mistake...... This should have just ran smoothly to conclusion.....
