Hey can anyone please tell me why I have 2 of a ton of apps on my phone?
Some are marked in the corner with what looks like a little blue folder (I need my eyes checked so I'm not sure).
I'm afraid to delete some because I don't want to lose anything important.

What phone and what version of Android/One UI? And are you using One UI for your launcher or are you using something else?

It's the S24
I believe that's the launcher yes
Thanks for your reply! But I think @RedDogRabbit may have figured it out😊

The ones with the blue folder are the apps in your Secure Folder.

That's why you have duplicate apps. It is normal.

I use secure folder and there is only one icon per application (I'm assuming the mark is the little blue key lock). The different icon only shows within secure folder. Outside of secure folder there are no duplicates. Are there supposed to be duplicates?

Hi Gothghoul,

We’re glad to hear that you were able to identify the issue!

The apps showing a small blue folder icon in the corner are indeed apps that are installed inside your Secure Folder which allows you to create a private, encrypted space on your device where you can store apps, files, and data separately from your main phone environment.

If you plan to remove any duplicate apps, please double-check which version you're deleting — especially if it contains any important personal data. Removing the Secure Folder version of an app will only delete the instance within the Secure Folder

Thank you.
