Hi JudyC, to download music to your device, search for the name of an artist, album or song that you would like to listen to online (there are a variety of different music providers).
Once you have downloaded the file to your device, it will automatically appear in Samsung Music. Alternatively, you can use theSpotify tab in the Samsung Music app to stream and listen to music.
For Spotify, you need to have the premium or paid version if you want to be able to download and save your music.

If you have your own music on your desktop computer that you bought say from itunes. You can copy them to your device and play them through the Samsung music app for free. No Subscriptions or internet needed. Hope this helps
