the spam folder will not appear and the option to mark as spam is not there. anyone have a solution? this is with my telus galaxy s7 with nougat.
And to be perfectly clear, I know the directions for how to make the folder appear and for how to mark as spam so do not reply with those directions unless you really need to be considered as useless as "customer service".

Hey @DOakes, the Samsung email app does not offer spam detection, but the email provider itself does. Depending on the type of account you set up (i.e. Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo), that option will appear or disappear. For example, on my test device using a Hotmail account set up using IMAP, the option is there. But with another provider that doesn't offer spam features, that option is missing.
If your account is set up as POP3, try switching it to IMAP or ActiveSync if your email provider allows it. (Remove the account, add it again) > choose "MANUAL SETUP" instead of "SIGN IN" > IMAP or ActiveSync > Save.
