I like to think that my phone has the healthiest battery ever and it will last me one day and a half regularly. That's why I use Samsung's memory optimization a few times per day. When I have seen it first, I thought that it might be a mistake, but then it happened again and again. I came to the conclusion that Samsung's math is out of this world, or the math we learned in primary school was wrong and we need to adapt.
According to Samsung's memory optimization app:
7GB - 4.9GB = 3.2GB.
Then:
5.3GB - 4.8GB = 1.4GB
Bellow are some screenshots about what I'm blabbering here.
Come on Samsung, I know you can do better than that, hire some good programmers who really know how many MB has 1GB! I will sleep better tonight if you let me know that your optimization app it is not just a placebo. Or, is your optimization app just a mind calming? It really cleaned that cache and army of apps doing nothing running in the background, helping battery's life? Did it really optimized something?

Why bother? It's been like this for a long time and the developers know about it. Get a Samsung phone for yourself and try it out.

Go into your settings, and then device care and then memory.

You will see how much memory is being reserved for the system to run. That widget doesn't give you all the details.

Also, remember that the system itself, the programs running in the background for you to have your cell signal and so on, lots of things need to run in the background so it'll always stay there using memory.

And then apps that you have installed and given permission to run in the background, some of them, even once you cleared the memory, they will just re-open right away.

So your ram memory will always be fluctuating. But if you open the device care itself and check with the reserved memory and do the calculation like that, it'll match up.

Just did it and refreshed many times on my S24 Ultra and no issues here.

Sadly, this device care isn't like a task manager on a computer and doesn't show you every system app that's running1721414899779.jpg
