Forced PIN now when I use the Secure Folder

I don't use any security for my phone. To get open it you just double tap the screen. I have no need for a PIN/password. I've been using the secure folder on my S24 Ultra for over a year. With a recent update I'm now being forced to add a PIN/code to access my phone in order to use the secure folder.  Why does Samsung force me to add a password to the phone when I don't want one? I use the secure folder to lock up anything I want and it is behind a password. My phone has no need for it. 

Is there any way around this?

Yes you need to use Security PIN, Pattern or Password if you want to use the Secure Folder. You could also use Biometrics... 

It's hardly a big deal to swipe a pattern to unlock the phone.. there is no way around it.

I agree.  This is stupid and an invasion of my privacy and right to control my device.  If I don't want to have a lock on my phone, I should not be forced to have a lock on my phone.  That's the whole point of having a secure folder, because once I'm in my phone, it's a secure place.  I don't need redundancy.

As per other post, I believe it just for security purposes. However, biometric is my way to go to "bypass" typing the pin 😂

I'm with the original poster, we want that feature disabled. The secure folder had a passcode of its own there was no security issue. Please speak with someone to remove this feature. I find it ridiculous that the developers are forcing this on us. I dont like to lock my device either and I dont want to have to set up a pin when I need to get into the secured folder. If that has to be done what is the point of calling it a secure folder??? It is no longer secure and just part of the folders. Please fix this post haste.

The amount of time gone into complaining about this, people could have unlocked their phones a hundred times with a pattern.. Seems to be a tempest in a teapot.

You have grasped the other end of the stick. The problem is not with a pin for the secure folder, but since UI8 we can no longer access the secure folder because in order to do so you need to set a secure method for accessing your phone. Those users like myself who choose swipe to open the phone use the secure folder for the few things we want to be secure. This allows, in case of emergency, anyone else to access data I do not care to be secured. My cousin died last year and I still cannot get into his phone. I do not wish my relatives to be in the same state. Please do not tell me it is no big deal. You do not get to tell me how I should feel or what I should think.
