I've been using Samsung phones for many years and over that time, I've experienced the frustration that comes with duplicate apps many which could not be deleted and some which could.

A perfect example of the latter would be Samsung email which I could never completely remove (not hide) and then suddenly I could. 😀 Now if you want to use Samsung email, you just download it and disable Gmail.

We live in a society of choice and as someone who has spent a considerable amount of money on phones, I believe I should have the right to have only the apps I want on my phone.

So what I am asking for here is for Samsung to be theleader in this era of bloatware and give your dedicated Samsung customers the autonomy to be able to completely uninstall (not disable or hide) applications.

Many of your apps are exceptional and I'd probably continue to use then, I'm just asking Samsung to give me that choice.

Amazon - like how suddenly you did not include Netflix on an update.
Bixby
Samsung Messages (Google is the Samsung standard now)
Samsung News
Samsung Calendar
Samsung Contacts
Samsung Gallery
Smart Switch

If I want any of these apps and some of them I do, then I'll download them.

Thanks tao77

Agreed!!

I will say though, I took a good fair share of my time yesterday just checking every single app in the Settings. It seems like your can delete a few extra apps compared to last year, I remember deleting a few I couldn't in the past. There seems to be some progress being done at least. Slowly but surely.

Samsung, please just give me the ability to just delete the apps like Samsung Messages. I'd even be okay with the ability to disable them.

Do you have Google Messages installed?

Samsung's Messages is a System App on my S23 Ultra, whereas Google Messages is a User installed app..

You could use adb to Disable Samsung Messages, if you can't (for some reason?) disable it from Settings > Apps..

I'm not sure why it is greyed out for you 🤔
