Sorry Kats & Kittens! Just about to post a query & found that I had a draft regarding my new S24 Ultra. I'll post this but I not sure how to mark it completed before any new post respond.
THIS TOPIC I COMPLETED!!(no shouting meant, just my usual raised voice when frustrated)
I'm so embarrassed that I can't figure this out myself. I can't get my brand new Smartphone to rotate like al phones in past have done & I never had to set that particular thing before. When I searched for "rotate screen" or "rotate to landscape", it appears as everything is how it should be, but as I've never had this problem, my old brain has gone out to lunch!! 😺😸😹. Thanks for all you all's expertise. Besides not going from P-L, iit won't spin around if by chance I pick pick it up upside down. Even in past phones, this motion would result in the screen would be right side up but phone body in portrait position. No matter how I maneuver the S24 Ultra the screen stayed in same position. So far until now, I've very much enjoyed it. Didn't notice anything until a few weeks ago when I proceeded to play my downloaded card games. Games such as Bubble Shooter. Works best in portrait whereas regular card games, ie Spider, Pyramid etc, with these old eyes, I need Landscape to be able to see cards. Again thanks for all your help here today even more so in the past. Cheers Oldbroad Angela 🇨🇦

Hi Oldbroad,

No need to feel embarrassed, Angela! It happens to the best of us, and we are happy to help you sort this out. It sounds like your screen rotation might be disabled, which is a setting that can easily be overlooked.

Here’s how to get your Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to rotate as expected:

Check the Auto-Rotate Setting:

Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the quick settings menu.

Look for the Auto-Rotate icon. If it shows as Portrait or Landscape, that might be why it's not rotating.

Tap on the icon, and make sure it is set to Auto-Rotate. This will allow your screen to adjust to both portrait and landscape orientations automatically.

Check Screen Orientation Lock:

If you're in an app (like the card games you mentioned), make sure the screen rotation lock isn’t on.

Go to Settings > Display > Auto Rotate Screen to double-check that everything is configured correctly.

Test the Screen Rotation: Try rotating the phone after making these adjustments. Pick it up upside down, or rotate it while using apps like your card games. The screen should automatically adjust to landscape or portrait mode based on how you hold the phone.

If everything is already set correctly but you're still experiencing the issue, try restarting your phone. This can sometimes resolve minor software glitches.

Thank you.
