I never heard of hold volume up/down for apps activation. But you can do this on side button instead.

It is under accessability>advanced settings.

I would prefer the activation be that rather than the power/side button

The side button AI (Bixby or Gemini) does not work for a lot of S25 users. It'll work for an hour or two, followed by a glitch that kicks your back to a menu, whereby you need to reassign the key again. I think it fails when the phone goes to sleep. Its completely useless.

You can change side button settings.
So if you double tap the power off button, it activates Gemini
Or you can use the "Hey Google" or tap on the home button for 2 seconds to activate Gemini 😊

I think he said he preferred using press or hold vol up/down buttons, instead of side button.

I don't think someone can press and hold vol up/down to activate Gemini 🤔

Yes, that's what I think too. That's why the member ask if there is any solution for it.

Home button isn't the side button.

Hi ivanchow4,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra! Currently, there isn't an option to assign the volume up/down buttons to activate Google Assistant or Gemini natively on the device.

We appreciate your feedback, and we'll share it with our team for consideration in future updates. If you need further assistance, feel free to let us know. We're here to help!
