Galaxy SBut if I select satellite it has a 3D look in that it's not looking straight down but from a slight angle. So tall buildings have a bit of a side view to them. This is only for some areas.
Do you want 3D when navigating? If just for viewing Google Earth is impressive.

Galaxy SI normally don't set my Google map as 3D satellite view, but as needed I do switch to 3D satellite street view with the selected location.

Galaxy SI'm thinking that it's a Google Maps limitation, and nothing to do with the device you are using.
