what does the circle with a diagonal line through it on the top right do and how do I get rid of it. The circle on the left is the do not disturb... help

It COULD be an issue with the SIM card itself - OR the SIM card slot? Contact your Carrier and ask them to GIVE you a a replacement SIM card & see if it resolves the issue - If it doesn't then I'd guess that it could be an issue with the SIM card slot? Anyway a quick way to rule things out would be by starting with a new SIM (they can fail but still kinda work) 🐧

+1 - start with the sim card. it is indeed the icon for "no cellular signal"
