Hello out there,

I recently purchased a koodo samsung galaxy s9, model SM-G960W and when I got it, I connected to my wifi and updated it. I viewed Sammobile.com database and can confirm that the firmware I'm running is listed as the latest firmware available right now as shown at the below mentioned link, G960WVLS3ARJ6. When I visit my Samsung account, this s9 shows up with a longer number which is SM-G960WZPAXAC. I'm not sure if it's relevant but I mentioned it anyways.

Sammobile firmwares for Koodo, model SM-G960W, https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s9/SM-G960W/KDO/

I checked in my Settings --> About --> Software Information and I can confirm that I'm running the latest version which is the one with PDA as 'G960WVLS3ARJ6'. I would simply like to rollback to the one listed just before which has the PDA set as 'G960WVLU3ARJ5'. The reason why that I would like to rollback is because I'm having a few issues with things and so i'd like to rollback to a previous firmware, if possible.

I read on XDA forum that there is a 'RMM state' setting that lingers around and makes you wait 7 days after a factory reset in order to enable 'OEM unlock' option in the 'Developer Settings' options menu. I'm not sure if that is the reason that it's not flashing using Odin or not but I'd like to mention that I factory reset my phone when I purchased it from a friends daughter about 5 days ago and I'd also like to mention that I do not see the 'OEM unlock' option inside my 'Developer Settings' at all. I'm a bit familiar with Odin already and the procedure to flash firmware but I'd like for someone to confirm the instructions on how I can rollback to version G960WVLU3ARJ5 of my s9's firmware with Odin. Whenever I try to flalsh to a previous official firmware with Odin, it starts checking things and goes for a little while but really early in the flashing procedure I receive an 'Auth failed' type of error. Unsure of what that actually means. Anyway, I know USB debugging must be enabled, anything else in developer options?

Do I have to wait 7 days after doing the factory reset in order to enabled 'OEM unlock'? Also, is this the reason that I cannot seem to flash previous versions of the SM-W960W KDO firmwares?(because 'OEM unlock' needs to be enabled first?). Perhaps it's because my S9 displays 'Secured by KNOX' just underneath the Samsung logo during boot? I thought knox was deprecated way back a long time ago :S

Excuse my wording as my English isn't the best.

Rick,

You don't need to unlock your bootloader. You can't anyway.

Just download ARJ5, boot into Download mode and then you use Odin with the files you downloaded.

Stop with this OEM unlock stuff. It's not what you're trying to do and is not useful. Do what @CHMultimedia said
