Hello! I am new to having a samsung and I just just got a samsung S22 ultra .

I have no idea if I'm missing something or if  it is just unavailable at the moment.

I want to change individual app notification sounds. Example; I want my text messages to have a different sound than a new email. I have looked at how you would change them for the S21 and it does not seem to be the same . Used the three little dots to change individual app settings and the option to change the sound down not appear. Settings for the phone and nothing.

Please help! Thank you!

How to Set a Custom Alert Sound in Settings

You can change and set up custom notification sounds via the default phone settings. Here's how to do this:

  1. On your device, navigate to Settings > Apps > Your apps. The menu names may be slightly different on some devices—for this guide, we'll be using a Samsung device.
  2. Find the app you wish to set a custom tone for and select it.
  3. On the app info page, tap Notifications and toggle on the slider button for Show notifications.
  4. You will be able to view a number of notification categories under the Other section on the Notifications page specific to each app, such as General or device-level notifications. Choose the appropriate category and select Alert.
  5. On the Notification category page, scroll down to the Sound section. It shows the default tone enabled for the app. Tap Sound and select your desired notification tone from the list to change the presets.

I am having the same issue. I am not sure what the miscommunication is on this forum. There is NO "incoming messaging" setting.

Hi, my question is slightly different. How can you import your own sound file(mp3) to use as Notifacation?

  • He didn't answer the question. Perhaps you can reread it and answer yourself. I'm having the same issue.

Hello

I think I was able to figure it out.

Go to Settings < Apps < Choose the app you want to change the sound on < Notifications < Notification categories < Click one of the options shown.

I guess for each app you may have just one or several options to change a sound on. I shared a picture of my eBay app with all the options I have with that app.

I also uploaded a video on YouTube "How to change App notification sound in Galaxy S22 Ultra" Channel: eddie947

Thank you! This worked. However, for my ESPN app, I don't see the option of having the apps classic espn notification like I used to have it on my s10+. I don't understand why they would make this so difficult. Hopefully someone has a resolution and shares it.

Well, solved my ESPN notification issue. Had to use a third party app (zedge) and downloaded the sound.

I use Zedge as well, and still on certain apps I am not getting the option to change the notification sound  Whenever I change it, it applies to everything, even though I've unchecked certain apps.  So frustrating.
