Galaxy SI don't have the S24, but go to the Play Store & Search for Google Messages & Post a screen shot of what you see on the Play Store.
The reason why I'm asking, is that there's a "hybrid" version of Samsung's "Google Messages.
You could also open the " Google Messages" app you have installed & go to it's Settings & Click on "Advanced" > Toggle ON "Show iPhone reactions as emoji".
See if that works for you?

Galaxy SI have the iPhone Reaction as emoji ON, too.
I am a beta tester for the google message app, I will try to leave it and see if it fixed it.

Galaxy SIt's also possible that the issue is coming from iPhone, and not Google Messages..
But if you see a separate Google Messages app available on the Play Store? try downloading that version and set it as your Default Messaging app..
