Hey fam,

I've been using my new S25 for a few days now, and I'm used to location-based routines from my old A53 – switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data automatically. But it's not working on the S25. I thought it was the adaptive power saving mode, but it's still not working normally. Check out the screenshot – I'm clearly missing something. Any ideas?

Hi galaxygiggle,

Thank you for reaching out! We understand that your location-based routines aren't functioning as expected on your new S25, even though you're used to it working seamlessly on your A53.

Here are a few things to check that might help resolve the issue:

Please make sure that the location accuracy is set to "High accuracy" under Settings > Location > Location Accuracy. This ensures your device can properly detect location changes.

Double-check the setup of your location-based routine in the Samsung Routines app. Try creating a new routine to see if the issue persists, as sometimes system updates can affect pre-existing routines.

Even with adaptive power-saving mode off, check if your device is in any other battery-saving state, such as Ultra Power Saving Mode, which could be limiting the routine functionality.

Ensure that Samsung Routines and any relevant apps like SmartThings have the appropriate permissions enabled for location and background activity.

But you get that you don't need to use a routine to automatically switch between WiFi & Mobile Data?

If you leave both on, as I do, when I'm at home my S25 Ultra uses my home WiFi, when I leave, it automatically conn to Mobile Data.. if I'm going to a trusted, previously connected to WiFi location, my device automatically connects to the Location's WiFi network.. but I don't use a routine for this, because it's not necessary.

You don't need to use any Routine for switching between WiFi & Mobile Data.

When you are connected to WiFi, and leave that location, if Data was on, it'll automatically start using Data.. When you return home, or a previously trusted WiFi network, it will automatically switch to WiFi.
