Did you Lock the Home Screen Layout?

Long Press on an empty space on the desktop & Settings > Lock Home Screen Layout.

Normally, these screens do not charge automatically, although without locking them up. Looks like something corrupted during SW updating. Try to clean system caches or reset them. ( don't need to reset back to manufacture mode)

Doesn't need to be corrupted, simply adding a new app to a device's desktop, can shift the position of app's icons on the desktop... unless it's layout is locked.

In fact, the likelihood of any "corruption" during a software update is extremely unlikely.

Yes, the screen could be charged once installing new apps depending on the installation option. But I guess Todd's original question is regarding without installing new apps.

Todd's original question didn't mention either way, as to whether or not they had installed any new apps. It's also possible to inadvertently drag an icon to a different location on the desktop, which is why Locking the Layout is recommended.

Fortunately, I don't lock my screen at all, but my screen never changes automatically except I do so.

Hi, if your device is experiencing automatic screen changes despite your settings, try checking for any active screen rotation or adaptive display features.

Additionally, ensure that no third-party apps are interfering with your display settings.
