I just finished setting up Google Drive on my new S7. I'm able to navigate to my Excel files and open them, but the app says the file is read-only and I can only make a copy of this file, not save over the original. What's going on?

The Excel app on Google Play says "To create or edit documents, sign in with a free Microsoft account on devices with a screen size of 10.1 inches or smaller." The S7 clearly is smaller than 10 inches, why can't I edit documents?

That's how Office works on Mobile. You just have to accept to make a copy and you can edit it like normal

thx CH. that's a bit of a let-down, no? I mean, I can't edit the actual file, I have to create a copy of it then edit that one..... in no time at all I'll eventually have 2 copies of every Excel file in my Google Drive! kinda lame.

I use dropbox, and I am able to open my excel documents right from my DB, and edit them, and they save automatically....
What version of Excel are you using?
