I am trying to access my external hard disk that is attached to my airport extreme (that is connected to my router) using the myfiles app. It comes up with the correct address and is using port 445 but cannot seem to connect. I have been able to do this with the 3rd party app RS File Manager using the same username and password. Has anyone had this issue? Any solutions?

Hello, well, i know this topic is kind of old, but i was just passion by and saw this.

So yeah, i had that same issue as well, with the exactly same pop up. But, the error isn't because of the 445 port but your credentials. By default, you can connect to your network by using your computer's name/Microsoft e-mail account/the name of your User directory in C / or you can add other local account to your system and give access according to your preferences.

Note: it doesn't matter from which drive or anything related your file or directory is shared, as long as you shared it with the windows files explorer.

For those who are using a Nas, if the default credential isn't working, try with the name you have set to call your NAS on the network. It should work that way.

Hope that those few tips will work for you 👋🏼
