Every time it gets to 3x Zoom it looks like there is Vaseline on the lens. It occurs between 3 and 10x zoom.

First picture is from my s23u and second is from a s23 exact same zoom level.

Hi SgtStubby,

We are sorry to hear the buggy experience on your Galaxy S23 Ultra's camera is producing blurry images between 3x and 10x zoom after a recent update.

Please Clear Camera Cache and Data: Go to Settings > Apps > Camera. Select Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Data. This will reset the camera settings without affecting your photos.

Inspect the camera lenses for any smudges or dust and clean them gently with a microfiber cloth.

Occasionally, the appearance of blur at certain zoom levels could be due to lens obstructions.

Test in Safe Mode:

  • Restart your phone in Safe Mode by pressing and holding the Power Off option, then selecting Safe Mode.
  • Open the camera and test the zoom in Safe Mode. If the blur is gone, it could be due to a conflicting third-party app, and you may need to troubleshoot which app is causing the issue.

We request you to please report the problem through the Samsung Members app. Go to Support > Send Feedback > Error Reports. Include details of the issue and photos demonstrating the problem.

Thank you.

I found the problem. It was a lens protector causing the issue. I removed the lens protector and it's working normal again. Even though the glass appeared fine it must have been causing an issue with the sensor. It's also bizzare that it happened right after the Oct 1 patch.
I did schedule a repair with Care+ but canceled it. The cost was $90 with tax. I could have bought the parts for that money and fix it myself had the module been broken.
