Navigation bar. One ui 6.1

Looks like samsung got rid of navigation bar features. I used to use the swipe gestures with the button layout, now there's only the iPhone type layout and buttons, and no option to hide either on the screen.
Any word of them bring back the old options? I think it's a dumb mistake getting rid of them. And is there any alternatives I can try to get them back?
