Galaxy SHi. Steven here. I have a Samsung A545G, using Android 14, One UI version 6.1, My Files 15.0.04.5, and Network Storage Manager 12.3.00.8, all above as of 25 May 24.
Check which SMB Server Protocols are being used on the SMB Server you are using to connect to: SMB 1 or SMB 2 or SMB 2.1 or SMB3.x. or some combination of these.
When I only use SMB 3.*** only on my SMB Server, my phone will not connect to my QNAP TS-253D running latest 5.x OS. If I choose to permit both SMB 2.1 & SMB 3.x protocols at my SMB Server, my phone connects.
Tells me Samsung still uses SMB 2.1 and not compliant with SMB 3.***.
My take is Samsung needs to update this Network Storage Manager software they use to properly support SMB 3.***. so by using only SMB 3.*** by itself (no other SMB protocols permitted) on a SMB Server, you can connect to the server shares.
SMB 3.*** has a massive amount of increased security updates that warrant it's exclusive use on ANY & ALL SMB supported network communications to be MUCH better protected security wise and with increased speed and multiple communication streams.
What say SUMSUNG?
