No sound on videos

Hey guys, I'm having issues with videos playing without sound in my browser. I've played with all of my volume settings and I've looked through my sound settings and can't find anything that applies. Some videos don't have volume controls, so I assume it has to be something on my phone. I've just ignored it till now, but I have a video I have to watch and I'm getting no sound. I can't set up cc either. Btw, I have an S20FE. Please help!

Hi Feffer,

Please ensure Do Not Disturb mode is disabled in your device, Clear your browser's cache and  restart your device, if the issue persists, boot into Safe Mode to determine if a third-party application is causing the problem. Additionally, connect headphones to verify if the audio is functioning through external devices.

Hi Helenna,
I did everything you suggested, and nothing worked, I'm still not getting audio on videos played through my browser. If you have any other ideas of what I can try, then, please, I'm all ears!

Hi Feffer,

Thank you for your patience and appreciate your efforts in trying the possible troubleshooting steps. 

Please try Clear Cache Partition and see if that might resolve the problem with browser videos not playing audio:

  • Turn off your phone.
  • Hold Power + Volume Up until the Samsung logo appears, then release.
  • Navigate to Wipe Cache Partition using volume buttons and confirm with the power button.
  • Reboot your phone and test.

Reinstall the Browser: Uninstall and reinstall the browser you're using to rule out any corrupted files.

If nothing works, as a last resort please back up your data and perofrm factory reset your device.

Hi Helenna,
Sorry so long to get back. I already tried the cashe partition before, and it didn't work. I'm too scared to do a full factory reset. I'm getting a new phone, so I'll just deal until it arrives. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
