So I've had my Note 8 for under a year and recently noticed half the screen being darker than the other. Clearly this is burn in.

I called Customer Service and they told me it's not covered under manufacturing defects and that it's my fault this issue has occured and that I should read my device manual. I'm pretty sure these screen are known to burn in over a period of time..

I've seen other posts with people claiming it's covered, but apparently it's not. Overall I'm pretty unimpressed, I take good care of all my electronics and the customer service (even the supervisor) was quite rude claiming it's my fault.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong spot? But anyway, hope this helps others. I just baught a Note 10+, I'll be returning that this weekend. Never again Samsung, never again!

Thanks for the reply, I know what burn in is. Did you know that it can also occur for other reasons as well though?Aka manufacturer defect? 😛 Don't you go "customer service" on me now too haha!

There is no burnt in image on the screen, merely one side is darker, there was no extreme brightness for extended period of time.

Regardless, your not covered, that's the point. And you can't convince Samsung otherwise, even though it's not written into their warranty (customer service told me they just haven't updated the main warranty webpage yet stating this haha).. It's your fault!

I was the Note 8 user as well. And my wife took over my Note 8 for 2 years. Total usage 3 years for Note8. But no burn-in issue. But only 1 incident and give up Samsung product...too negative. I am pretty sure other brands have their poor weakness too.

I could forgive them for one bad product, but the appalling customer service I cannot. It was a very rude interaction from my side. Probably the worst experience I've had from a tech company to date.

I bought the S8+ when it came out and in a matter of a few months had burn in from the navigation bar ( that was before the auto hide option ). Nothing at all with the Note 8 and Note 9.

I've owned the Note, Note 2, Note 8 and now the Note 10+. I've never had issues with the screen. Did your actually bring it into an authorized service center to look into it? I think if they see it physically it can be determined if it is indeed a manufacturer defect.
