Well, your S23 will be receiving the One UI V6.0 update, my S20 Ultra will not.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure that Samsung's plan was update your S23 to One UI V6.0, as well as the October Security Patch at the same time. As they say "the best laid plans..".

Good news the update is coming to the s23 series in Canada tomorrow If your on Roger's other carriers should get it soon but how soon still don't know samsung has been chessing me they have already made us wait for like 2 months on the s23 series, atleast they could've released an October security patch update in October, the bummer of getting security patch end of month means it's going to stay behind in the security patch, I don't understand why the s23 series have been doing so poor security update wise

If One UI V6.0 is released tomorrow, it will be released by Samsung, so it does not matter which Canadian Carrier you are with. Updates always come from Samsung's Servers, not the Canadian Carriers.

The only thing that we get from the Carriers, are the OS Update Schedules, but they get their information from Samsung Canada.. which is why sometimes the OS Update Schedules are wrong 😉

Either ways I'm worried about the s23 series in Canada it did very poorly with security update it was almost as if it was bi monlty rather than montly, I'm still on the September security patch, the argument is if the s20, s21 and s22 series gotten October yodate over a month ago I don't know why Samsung has been slacking this year, the s22 series and s21 series where doing pretty well beating Google to its punch in security update but with the s23 series they have been screwing up and I'm talking about the s21 and s22 series getting October update in Canada over a month ago

I wouldn't worry about the S23 series. As has been said, the delay for the Security Patch, is almost certainly because of the One UI V6.0 update was expected sooner. I'm sure that it will come with the November Security Patch included.

Samsung, nor any other OEMs have ever released any Security Patch before Google, simply because Google provides them to the OEMs.

My point is it should've gotten the October security update during 1ˢᵗ week of October like the s21 series and s22 series did at that time one ui 6 was in the beta stage so the October security patch arriving in October had nothing to do with the one ui 6 update.

Yeah, you're not getting my point.

Should Samsung have pushed the October Security Patch to the S23 series, in retrospect yes, they certainly could have.

My point is that Samsung was expecting a push the One UI V6.0 update in October, but that didn't happen in Canada, and possibly, fortunately.

My S20 Ultra received the November Security Patch OTA November 17th.

Samsung really has improved in releasing it's updates, and dramatically compared to just a few years ago.

Samsung, along with all the other OEMs running Android, have an agreement with Google, which gives them 90 days after Google provides the Security Bulletins to them, to provide the Monthly Security Patch OTAs to their devices.

Most people probably don't even pay attention to them.

I get what you're saying, but it's not the end of the world.

The s20 series isn't getting one ui 6 that was an error in samsungs end, on the s21 series and s22 series they have been doing great with security patch but on the s23 series even before I haven't been getting updates consistently like it was mostly bi montly rather than montly

I know that the S20 series isn't getting One UI V6.0, and I'm waiting just like everyone else for the One UI V6.0 update on my S23 Ultra.

I don't view the monthly Security Patch Updates as being critical to my usage of the device, it's certainly important, but as I said, OEMs have up to 90 days after Google releases their Security Bulletins to provide the updates.

I mean neither do I but still it's a current flagship and if it's falling behind, next thing you know the s23 getting android 17 when android 18 is in the beta. Hopefully Samsung will expand to 5 and 5 or 6 and 6 and respond to Googles 7 and 7 years of updates
