I have a problem similar to that unresolved issue noted here, https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s/disabling-the-default-photo-editor-app/td-p/11822993.

Basically my Photo Editor app is taking up 6.9GB of storage that cannot be overcome or reclaimed by using the clear storage button. I have been using Photo Editor to downsize and crop high resolution photos from my high resolution Sony camera for over a year now. I now realise that the original photos were never actually modified or deleted. Even over a year later I am still able to click "Revert Original" and return by 5MB photo back to its 35+ MB original.

How do I delete the original photos and reclaim all this storage?

I'm not really into Photography, but seems to me that if you "send" the edited & smaller image to your computer, separate cloud storage, OTG device for safe keeping, then go & delete the original (large) images from everywhere.

Then send the edited images back to your device.

I think that you should be able to accomplish your goal.

Hi, we suggest you to backup the data, then perform clear data for photo editor app, if it still show same storage then perform factory reset.

Please follow the steps in the given links for back data and factory reset.

I find this solution of doing a factory reset useless. This is obviously a software issue. And who's to say it won't happen all over again. Am I expected to do factory resets on a regular basis? Good grief.  Fix this Samsung! Your app is using 31 gigabytes of internal storage on my Note 20+ Ultra 5g phone. I have been forced to delete other apps to accommodate your  storage usage. Yes, I've cleared data and cache with zero effect. Yes, all my photos are on my SD card. I'm at my wits end with this! Yesterday,  I uploaded the latest Samsung updates and still no bug fixes for this.

I would be more likely to suspect that the issue is with your sd card.

Micro sd cards have been known to fail or get corrupted.

Insert the sd card into your computer & check it for errors.

Same issue here, the only thing I have found to work is saving as copy after editing and deleting the original.  I don't know what do do about past photos.   You can hit clear data in the photo editor app until you're blue in the face and it just reappears, never actually goes away.  If they could just make it delete the actual data we'd all be good.

What's the point of having this website if Samsung and it monitors don't use it to fix the issue. Samsung has an app that can't be deleted using unacceptable amounts of storage space. The data cannot be deleted! I'm 24G in locked up internal storage. I've deleted everything I can just get my phone to function. Samsung do something about PHOTO EDITOR DATA HIGHJACK ISSUE!

Don't know what the issue is with your device?

If you're saying that Samsung's Photo Editor on your device is using 24 Gig of storage.. something is clearly wrong.. somewhere.

I've got about 6.2 Gig of Photos & Samsung's Photo Editor is only using 116 Meg, of which 61.44 Meg is Cache, which can be cleared without affecting my photos.

What device do you have & have you tried anything to resolve the issue..?

Can you post a screen shot of the Storage for Samsung's Photo Editor?

As you can see in my screen shot, the amount of data for images is in kb, not Meg or Gig. The app itself is essentially the total storage used.
