I have a Samsung S10+ and keep getting disconnected from my wifi. I am using a Linksys Atlas Pro 6 Velop mesh network.

All other devices work correctly without issue, laptops, xbox, ipad, bluray player, amd more.

Multiple times a day the connection just drops and whatever I do I cannot reconnect t to network. I keep getting incorrect password error, then after a random amount of time the device connecs and works again fine.

Here are the steps I nave tried, and issue continues.

- reenter and verify password, (I know it is correct as it will eventually reconnect)

- turn off wifi, forget network and reconnect, still get password error

- turned off Google location accurqcy services

- wiped cache with system reboot

- rebooted router and nodes

- randomly starts reconnecting again to network fine

Once reconnected, randomly the wifi eventually drops and start getting incorrect password error again, repeating and only giving notification network has dropped and get incorrect password error.

This is frustrating and only happends on samsund devices. What other settings could be incorrect on my Galaxy S10+ phone?

Please help!

What encryption method you use? WEP? WPA2?

Hi Tallman,

I have tried WPA2 and WPA3 separately and mixed. Both give same error with password authentication randomly.

Now my Samsung Galaxy Tablet A7 is giving the same error. Again all other non Samsung devices are working fine without issue.

Hi ChrisK2359, please try reset network settings also assign IP address and verify if it works fine.

Go to Settings >> General Management >> Reset >> Reset Network Settings >> Reset settings. This will reset all network settings, including those for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, and Bluetooth.

You can assign an IP address to your device using the network information from your PC. Make sure you are using a PC that is connected to the same network as your phone.

1.To find your mobile device IP address, navigate to and open Settings. Tap About phone, and then tap Status. The IP address will be listed as a set of four numbers under IP address.

2.Next, you will need to find your network information. The easiest way to retrieve the information about the Gateway address, etc. is using a PC already connected to the AP/Router. Note that you will not be able to use the same IP address that is assigned to the PC. Change the last number of the IP address to something that is not already in use. Many routes leave 200 undefined 250 unassigned for this reason.

3.Click Start, type "CMD" into the search bar, and then press Enter. Type "ipconfig/all" into the black box, and then press Enter. The IP address, Gateway, and DNS settings will be displayed. Please write down all of these numbers because they will be needed when you configure the IP settings on your device.

4.Now you can use this information to assign a static IP to your phone. On your mobile device, navigate to and open Settings. Tap Connections, and then tap Wi-Fi. Tap the network you want to connect to. If the network has already been configured, tap Forget, and then reconnect the network using the below steps. If needed, enter the network password. Then, tap Show advanced options. Tap the IP settings drop-down menu, and then tap Static. Tap the IP address and enter the new IP address. Tap Gateway and enter the Gateway address from your PC. Tap Network prefix length and then enter the appropriate info in the CIDR notation. Most people will encounter these IP ranges on their home wireless routers.

5.Tap DNS1, and then enter the Preferred DNS you want the device to use. Tap DNS2, enter the Alternate DNS you want the device to use, and then tap Connect. If Connect is greyed out, the information you entered has an error. Double check your entries.

Okay, I followed the steps applied a static ip to each Samsung device as requested. They both connected fine (as expected), now I will wait to see if the incorrect password issue returns. I will post an update when available....

Static IP?? Interesting. I am also using Atlas Pro 6 too. I don't have such an issue. No clue.

I have exactly the same problem with my s21 FE. Tried every reset possible on phone and router, but I still have my phone randomly coming up with "incorrect password" until I open up wifi setting and just rejoin the network... Then it joins straight away... Until the next days "incorrect password".

No other device suffers this on our network, router and phone are both on latest software.

Samsung.....?
