Hello
It's there a way to stop the S Pen from defaulting on drawing mode upon opening a note? I'd like it to default on text entry.

Thanks.

Do you have GoodLock's Pentastic installed on your device?

It gives you all the options.

I installed it but don't see the options in your screenshot. Everything seems to be regarding the button actions.

Hi DarrellM,

Thanks for sharing your experience with the S Pen and Samsung Notes on your Galaxy S24 Ultra.

At this time, Samsung Notes is designed to automatically enter drawing mode when a note is opened using the S Pen, as it assumes you intend to write or sketch. This is the default behavior and is not currently configurable through the app settings.

While the Pentastic module in Good Lock allows for extensive S Pen customizations such as modifying the Air Command menu and button actions it doesn't include the ability to change the default input mode in Samsung Notes specifically.

To start in typing mode, you can manually open the Samsung Notes app from the app drawer or home screen (instead of using the S Pen Air Command or direct S Pen input). This typically opens a new note in text input mode.

We appreciate your feedback and we recommend submitting this suggestion through the Samsung Members app under: Support > Send Feedback > Suggestion. We’re always listening, and your input helps shape future updates.

Thank you.
