Hi all,

Hopefully someone can get an answer for this. Before updating to Android 13, my system storage was only taking up about roughly 23-26 GB. Now, after updating to Android 13, it is taking up 102 GB. Luckily I have the 256 GB model but my partner who has the same phone, except the 128 GB model, is stuck with also around 101 GB for system storage.

Restarting phone and factory resetting did not help the storage issue.

Anyone else experiencing this issue as well?

Thank you

That is precisely what I'm saying. If it went from 23-26 GB to 102 GB, I don't know what else would take up that storage since it's listed under "System" in my Device Care.

That is simply impossible.

The FULL zipped firmware for One UI V5.0 is ~6.6 Gig

On One UI V4.1, system was about 25 Gig & on One UI V5.0, it is 25.81 Gig.

There's something else that is causing Device Care / My Files (they use identical methods to calculate, because it is the same app doing the calculation).

Maybe go to Settings > Apps Toggle On "Show System Apps" Middle Right click OK and Search for My Files & Scroll down to Storage & Clear BOTH Cache & Data for the app & Reboot.

Check again.

Attached is a breakdown of my data on my device. I scanned through all system apps on my device and nothing is taking up a large amount of storage at all. No system apps with any more than 650 MB. Screenshot_20221206_123826_My Files_1000014412_1670348426.jpg

The only thing I can think of off hand, is that the way System is being calculated on your device is the issue.

Just logically, it is impossible for roughly 6.6 Gig zipped, to explode up to ~75-80 Gig ADDITIONAL storage space.

I was looking to see if I could quickly find the screen shot of System before I updated to One UI V5.0, I'll keep looking, but System is virtually identical to what it was on One UI V4.1.

Click on the 'i' for apps to allow something, for some reason they group the apps with the system storage.

I have Gmail disabled as I don't use it, so not that. Only taking 54 MB.

Gmail is not a System app, so it's irrelevant as far as System Storage.
