I recently sold my note 10 plus because it dropped fps a lot while playing pubg. This would cause me to die in situations I would have won with a different device. So I got the s21 ultra, thinking newer technology should not have any problems. Boy was I wrong! The phone gets very hot to touch and once it's warm the frame rate drops. Other devices like iPhone, one plus and Asus don't have these issues even on max settings. How is it that a large very rich company is selling devices at extreme prices that can't compete with inferior less expensive older models? There are many complaints about this problem on the internet. S21 models are getting too hot and fps performance throttles. I have the most recent June update and no apps running in background while running the game on medium settings. I've always liked Samsung, but how is it a 3yr old iPhone can perform better with higher performance settings applied in the game? I hope Samsung fixes this asap.. no more excuses. Extremely frustrated.

I own the S21 Ultra. I play a few games, watch YouTube videos, browse the internet and never have experienced any overheating of the phone. The phone will warm up because of the power it uses but will not overheat to dangerous temperatures.

Hi, Please read the following information if your device is getting too hot: Poor signal strength can cause the device to work harder in order to obtain a better connection. Please check your network connection. If the device is hot while charging, remove any cases or pouches from the device and then check the USB connection for corrosion. Make sure the charger is removed once the battery is fully charged. Failing to do so can overheat the device. Check if the device is exposed to extreme heat or direct sunlight.

Heavy usage of the device, such as streaming media, playing games, or Tethering/Hotspot can cause the device to heat up. Apps that require more power can also cause the device to overheat. If apps are not running properly, ensure the device is being charged on a flat surface and remove the case if applicable.

Note: Samsung is not responsible for any damage to batteries or chargers. Exit apps that are not in use.

Update the device by opening Settings, tapping Software update, and then tapping Check for software updates or Download and install.

The phone is brand new and running on a 5g connection. It's not charging, I'm playing a game in medium graphic settings. It's nowhere near sunlight, I'm inside with air conditioning. Other devices under requiring high power due to gaming don't get this hot.
Like I said, there is no excuse for a brand new high end device to be performing this way (not performing) - thanks moderator!

"Hi, please perform wipe cache partition.

1. Hold the Power button and Volume Down to open the power options where choose the Power off.

2. When the screen goes dark press the Volume Up and Power keys together.

3. Let go of all held buttons when you see the Recovery mode on the screen.

4. Then you should select Wipe cache partition. Use Volume Up to navigate and the Power button to accept it.

5. Choose Yes and press the Power key to confirm that operation.

6. After that select Reboot system now with the Power key."
