Just got an S22 Ultra last month, and noticed the battery is nowhere near as good as my S21 Ultra was. Noteably, from 5% to dead takes 1 minute. Is this common for the 22 line up?

It's more likely that when you saw 5% it actually wasn't at 5%

Sometimes the battery measurement may occasionally be "stuck".

You could always try Booting into Recovery & Wiping Cache.

If you haven't Factory Reset your device since the last Android version update, you could always do that.

Thanks I'll try wiping the cache, but I don't know why the option is always factory resetting your phone? It's an insane amount of time and work to do that.

Using Smart Switch to backup your device, a Factory Reset doesn't actually take that long. I've got around half a dozen apps that require adb to work properly, but even still, my device is back to how I want it relatively soon.

The benefits of performing a Factory Reset, definitely outweigh the the "inconvenience".

Why I Factory Reset:

Essentially because, While there's a script in every OTA that essentially wipes Cache. In Android version updates, the script SHOULD erase / wipe data that may be a conflict to the new OS.

It's not always 100% effective, and there's been plenty of posts over the years, where some people experienced issues, some almost unnoticeable, others more so.

Performing a Factory Reset, while shouldn't be required, has for me at least, resulted in never having any problems.
It's a habit from testing Custom Roms & I think that it's served me well.

Not very good to let your battery go that low let alone drain it to 0.

Hey jOn, not sure if you're willing to compromise on some settings, but I made a video about how to increase the battery life on the S22 Ultra. Can share with you if you're interested. Of course, you have a high end phone and you paid for high end features, so it'll be up to you on which settings you're willing to turn off to extend battery life if necessary.

I have the S22 Plus and it has excellent battery life. But it also will drop from 5% to dead in a couple minutes. It's probably just a calibration issue.

No surprise, my S22 ultra, was dying FAST , the last several months.

I had a lot of stuff turned off, running on very basic modes only.

I was lucky to get 5hrs sot.

Hi, please try the steps by RedDogRabbit to perform wipe cache partition and check if it helps to solve the issue.

Below are the steps to perform wipe cache partition.

1.Turn off the unit.

2.Press and hold the volume up button and press and hold the on/off button. When the Android logo is displayed, release all keys ("Installing system update" is displayed before displaying the Android system recovery menu options).

3.Press the volume down key repeatedly to highlight "wipe cache partition".

4.Press the Power key to select. Press the Volume Down button to highlight "Yes" and press the Power button to select. When the wiping of the cache partition is completed, "Reboot System Now" is highlighted.

5.Press the Power button to reboot the unit.

Even after performing the above steps if your issue is not resolved, please perform back up and factory reset by following the steps in the given links.
