Galaxy SDid you try Booting into Safe Mode & testing the Mobile Network? That could rule out a 3rd party app causing the issue.
Which Canadian Carrier are you using?
You could always try a Factory Reset.. but if the issue persists, visit a Samsung Service Centre to get it checked out by a tech.

Galaxy SHi shafali,
As you have already attempted all possible troubleshooting steps and the issue continues to persist, we recommend visiting the nearest Samsung Service Center. Our service technicians will examine the device thoroughly and work to resolve the issue.
Since the SIM card functions correctly in another device, it appears that the problem may be with the device. Prior to your visit the service center, please keep the device in Safe Mode, as suggested by RedDogRabbit.
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to assisting you.
