Hi everyone, I am having issues with two email apps. After having problems with my Blue Mail app not getting email notifications without opening the application, I decided to try K-9 Mail, and this app also does not show email notifications if the phone is on standby (screen off) but downloads emails properly if I open the application. Is this only happening to me?

Thanks. I did make sure that they aren't restricted through battery usage and the notifications are set properly. I will give Aquamail a try.

Hey, when you say "standby mode," do you mean when the phone is on but you're not using it? 'Cause usually, that's more of an iPhone thing.

Yes, phone on, screen off.

I used Aquamail for years and never could figure out how to get notifications from it. Now I know. - thanks.

Now I can't check it out as I switched to Gmail after Aquamail switched to being a subscription service.

Edit - just did a check and Gmail is not set to unrestricted yet it does notifications. Be interesting to know how they get it to work.

I just try another email app (Mail from Edison) and seems to work no problems including the notifications. It could be a problem with Blue mail and my S24.

1 bad mail app is okay, but I don't think all of them are. So, you don't have any problems with your mailing apps. 🤔

The problem came from your Notifications settings.

I'm not sure, but I still have Blue Mail installed alongside Mail from Edison. Mail works no problems, but Blue Mail doesn't notify me unless I open the app. It's strange. I'll remove Blue Mail. Thanks for your help.

Go into the app while you keep your finger on the app's logo.

Force stop, clear the cache, and be sure to check that the notification setting is set correctly.

@Dentho, Where are you residing from? If you are in the United States, you will have to ask your carriers there for assistance. As this is Samsung Members Community Canada, we may not be able to assist you with Blue Mail, K-9 Mail as these do not look familiar here in Canada. The email programs used the most here are Outlook/Hotmail, GMAIL, etc.
