On s24 ultra. When zooming with camera and at 2x there is a noticeable shift in the image. This happens in photos and videos which ruins the zoom transition in videos. I had the s23 ultra before and the s22 and the zoom transition was always very smooth. Did I get a defective unit? Or has anyone noticed this on their phone?

Update: just spent 45 minutes on the phone with a very nice technical support rep. However their answer is that it's normal behavior due to phone changing lenses which doesn't make sense to me. All new phones including the s23 uktra had multiple lenses but the transition is never this bad and the image shift this noticeable.

I see the same on my s24 ultra. It jitters when it switches to 5x from 4.9x

I am also looking for more comments to confirm if it's an issue with my unit or not.

Yes. On the remote call with the rep we noticed it happens on 2x and on 4.9x .. I can't understand how that is normal behavior and how we can't record a video with smooth zoom focus on the phone then?!!

Normal iphone does pixel does. When cameras switch to decode an abnormal close range. No one zooms in on macro shot. Camera can decide to zoom or crop the picture switches lenses all lenses are on diff locations picture will move comen sense.

Your input is appreciated . But I disagree that this amount of shift is present on the iPhone for example ( I'm using one) plus this shift is present in macro and normal photos. I've searched this online and if it's normal behavior it wouldn't have been reported multiple times in different members forum posts here and in the states.

Iphone has light ghosting as well and pixel does it to. Few software tweeks will fix it. I'll never be zooming in on macro.

It is normal for a little bit of a stutter or lag to occur when switching lenses. But I've seen videos where the picture shifts to the side. My old p30 was smoother than this.

I saw a video on X about this. The shift is jarring and horrible. The video i saw the whole picture shifted to the side. Should not be like this.

One person made vedio lol check pixel same thing check apple also has ghosting. Since when do people zoom in macros lol no one does. If that one video was not made on X no one would have known lol. 4 lenses one crops one zooms when u come so close to confuse the camera to figure out what lens to use that's what happens it jumps from lens to an other the object will jump. Zoom farther away why bring lens so close then zoom makes no sense

You seem to be very upset about people complaining about the issue. To say it again, the issue is there whether it's a close up or long shot. And you might want to go Google s24 image shift online to see what the issue is before you initiate this crusade of yours. :) also and since you keep referencing the pixel in every post. I would have bought a pixel if I wanted the pixel issues but I'm a long time samsung user so I know what the experience should be like.
