I started getting update available message months ago. After checking online and reading about all the issues I decided to wait. The prompts to upgrade just kept getting more and more annoying even after pressing the pause update option. I was constantly interrupted with the new update available message which would take up the entire screen.

After months of this annoyance and still not able to find any real information I decided to go ahead with the update hoping by now they should have fixed most of the bugs I read about.

First issue was the update wouldn't download. The tablet kept trying but it would respond with network error. Cannot connect to server. Try again later.
I assumed samsung had maybe put a hold on allowing the files to be downloaded until the fixed the bugs. Time went buy and this continued to happen. I eventually posted a question asking Samsung in the members support section asking if that was the case or if there was something wrong on my end. I thought that was one of the benefits of Samsung members but never got any reply. I waited and waited and eventually gave up and simply deleted the post.

The prompts and interruptions just kept getting more and more intrusive so I decided to contact Samsung support through the live chat. Got a gentleman named Ken who was incredibly professional and polite. He did every thing he could including connecting remotely and checking with his team and they could not come up with a solution.

His final suggestion was to take the tablet to service center. Keep in mind this tablet is only e few months old.

As someone with an extensive tech background I elected to try and figure this out myself. I believed this had to have been a software rather than hardware issue.

Trying different networks did not work. I then proceeded to try updating using Samsung smart switch on my desktop. Smart switch would tell me there is an update. Download the update which was painfully slow on a 1 gigabit connection. It would then start the update but would always report an error halfway. It would simply say failed to install update.
This caused issue with the tablet so I eventually had to do a hard factory reset which was very frustrating because it took me many tries until i tried it while the tablet was still connected to the pc buy usb which finally worked,
After the factory reset the tablet was working again, but again the prompts to update was back.

At this point I decided the only network I haven't tried was my cellular phone as a mobile Hotspot and bingo the update was downloaded and installed. After the One UI6 update was done it downloaded a second security update. I then used my backup on samsung cloud to restore everything and tablet was fully updated and everything was back to normal. Everything was fine and the only change I made was changing Dex to the older format. They new one makes no sense to me personally. I like dex because it's layout is similar to a desktop so making it look exactly like my tablet screen doesn't work for me personally,
.
Was very happy things went back to normal, everything seemed to be working fine and most of all no more annoying pop-ups.

That was until I started noticing my battery performance gradually getting worse day by day. I quickly went from loving the battery performance of this tablet to feeling very annoyed with samsung.
We were just about to purchase a samsung oled to add to our many samsung electronics we own but have decided to put that on hold.

Samsung if you are listening please issue a fix for this battery issues and many other bugs your users are reporting and in the long term you will only hurt you own business. I have close to 30 years in tech and consumer electronics and have worked quite closely with your reps all over Ontario and it is very sad to see the frustration you are causing your customers.

Just wanted to share my experience in hopes it will help anyone having the same issues and provide some feedback to company that I once loved and sold a ton of your devices.

Have you tried opening the Samsung Members app & Click on Support > Phone Diagnostics & run the Diagnostics for the Battery?

Have you tried to see what app(s) are draining the battery?

Have you tried Booting into Safe Mode to see if the battery drain is the same or less?

Those are the things that I would start with.

Thank you and the answer is yes to all of your suggestions except safe mode. I didn't go into every detail to keep the post shorter. Will give safe mode a try.
