Hey @dominicano, this issue is difficult to diagnose or troubleshoot without physically inspecting your device. Please contact your local Samsung Service Center (http://www.samsung.com/ca/support).
It's been reported online that if you let your S8/S8+/Note 8 fully discharge it bricks it. You have to get it started by using stacked charging. Samsung says they are looking into the issue since it is software related. You should always keep your battery at no less than 45% to prolong it's life.
