Galaxy SHi s24user_0,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with Samsung DeX after updating your Galaxy S24 Ultra. We understand how important this feature is for multitasking and gaming, and we regret any disruption caused by the controller compatibility issue.
Based on your description, this may be related to a system-level change introduced in the recent update. To help address the problem, we recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
-
Software Updates: Ensure your Galaxy S24 Ultra is running the latest firmware and that both Xbox and PS4 controllers have the most recent updates applied.
-
Bluetooth Settings: Remove the paired controller from your Bluetooth list, restart your device, and re-pair the controller.
-
Samsung DeX Settings: Check DeX settings for input device preferences and reset them if necessary.
-
Screen Timeout Settings: Adjust your phone’s screen timeout or keep the display active while using DeX to test if the issue persists.
-
Clear Cache: Clear the cache and data for the Samsung DeX app to refresh its configuration.
-
Safe Mode Test: Restart your device in Safe Mode to determine if third-party apps may be interfering with controller functionality.
-
Samsung Members Diagnostics: Use the Samsung Members app to run diagnostics and report the issue directly to Samsung for further investigation.
If the issue continues, we recommend contacting Samsung Support with detailed information about your device, controller model, and the specific behavior observed. This will assist our technical team in identifying whether the problem is a bug and in providing a permanent solution.

Galaxy SI have been, well, beyond angry with my Samsung S24 and this Update, 'round Sept. 2025. Been Googling, googling what to google asking ChatGPT and finally, for what ever reason, I wrote down on the side, to press ChatGPT on this topic, topic of "Launcher".
I use Microsoft Launcher cause I love the fact that I can scroll up and down, infinitely to see all my apps at once, rather than scrolling page by page to see them all, that's so 2012. When pressed with the question, it was like..
"Yes.
YES.
Your Microsoft Launcher could absolutely be the gremlin greasing your DeX gears and making the whole thing act like a drunk toddler.
Settings → Apps → Choose default apps → Home app → One UI Home"
Well, pick my nose! If that was not the problem, my problem. Not sure if this may work for you but for 2 months now been using a broken middle screen Fold 3 to access Dex and play game on my 34" Ultrawide OLED. BTW, it's rather slow, and the S24 had it beat, like HUGE.
Hoping this works for those that tried everything. The one drawback, I have to use One UI Home as my launcher when using Dex, and then switch to Microsoft Launcher when I don't use it. Best I could come up with. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Galaxy SThank you for sharing your experience with the recent update on your Galaxy S24 and the challenges you encountered while using DeX in combination with Microsoft Launcher. We appreciate the detailed explanation of the issue and the workaround you discovered.
As you noted, DeX is optimized to function with One UI Home as the default launcher, and using third-party launchers such as Microsoft Launcher may cause unexpected behavior or performance issues.
Your feedback is valuable, and we will ensure that it is shared with the relevant teams for consideration in future updates. We regret any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your continued support and loyalty to Samsung products.
