Hi I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? And if it's covered under warranty? It's not from physical or water damage. It looks more like it's detaching the plastic backing from the phone itself. I'm the first owner of this phone and have had it for about 8 months now. The phones been getting very hot even just sitting in my pocket with the screen and AOD turned off . If anyone else has had this issue please reach out! Thank you.

Hi, As of now there are no such issues. We suggest you to get the phone examined by the service technician to check and fix it.

For repairs that are under the manufacturer’s warranty, there is no charge for the service to perform the repair for In-Warranty devices.

If you have Samsung care plus, then Call Us at 1-877-699-1356, 24 hours / 7 days per week (including holidays) to initiate a service request. You may be eligible for same-day repair at one of our specified service locations. You may be required to provide the original Confirmation Letter for the device or any other information we may reasonably request.

I'd suggest that you Google this & see if it's been reported by others. Samsung Moderators are not likely to be well informed & Samsung Chat support even less likely.

We ended up having the same issue as well and the whole back of the phone ends up peeling away and coming off. We took it to get a warranty repair and it's been a nightmare. Samsung doesn't have this in their system so uBreakiFix can't enter it for warranty repair. I've been on the phone with both Samsung and uBreakiFix for over 1 1/2 hours over three calls and Samsung keeps saying they should be able to fix it under warranty (they've given me a ticket number for my call where they said it was documented then a case number) and uBreakiFix says they need "a lead forwarded to them" which Samsung has done many times, but none of the three CSRs at Samsung have known what that is and keep saying uBreakiFix shouldn't have a problem repairing it. This has been going on for a month and now the phone is out of warranty and they started telling me they couldn't fix it now because it's out of warranty. I had to spend another hour on the phone with two different people and they said they had no record of my first call (which was over 30 minutes long and is in my phone records) but they do see where I called again before the warranty had expired. Then they asked why I didn't get it repaired before the warranty expired and I explained that they had to order the part, so then they told me to expect to pay for the repair. Finally, after suffering through multiple explanations, they agreed that because the issue happened while under warranty and I reported it under warranty that it would be covered (duh), but now they're not sure how to get it approved at uBreakiFix. They have my phone and the repair is done, but they can't give it back to me because Samsung hasn't approved the repair yet. I call Samsung and they say that they don't need to approve anything, it's up to uBreakiFix because they're an authorized repair center so there isn't anything else Samsung can do.

The whole experience from disconnections, delays, widely varying responses from Samsung CSRs, and the inability for people to do what they know they should just because they aren't sure how to enter it into the computer is so frustrating. This was our first and last Samsung phone.

PS - the store said they had someone bring in another phone with the exact same issue a week prior and they couldn't get Samsung to approve the repair. The first person at Samsung I spoke with kept telling me that this was normal wear and tear. Apparently the paint peeling off and the back of a phone falling off (in less than a year, no less) is normal wear and tear for Samsung. I don't actually believe that, but the fact that the CSR repeated that multiple times like they believed it was maddening.

Ya my process was a headache as well . It came to the point where I didn't have enough time to continue playing games so I gave up. My phone is still deteriorating as we speak it's now got burn marks around the camera and the glass "protector" for the camera is cracking because of the heat I'm basically just waiting until it blows up so I can sue them , which by the looks of it should be very soon. See you in court Samsung!

I'm having the exact same issue. Paint under backing peeling and phone gets hot.

Literally having the exact same issie others are stating. Paint under backing is peeling and phone also gets very hot at time, like at this moment for instance were I feel like I need to take it out of its protective case because it feels like it is going to overheat.
