Galaxy SWill we in Canada ever get esim enabled for our phones? I know the hardware is there in the phone and it's the software stopping us from using it

Galaxy SThe problem is either Samsung or the service providers have closed off on the software side. I looked around and the physical embedded chip is in there but you don't see any options inside the phone.

Galaxy SThat's not true. The carriers can only do so much with regard to eSIM support. They don't have the ability to enable the feature on the phone. That's Samsung's responsibility. Part of the responsibility falls on Samsung to roll out a software update that enables the feature on the phone, that's currently disabled as is the case on the S20 series. Canadian carriers like the big three (Bell, Telus, Rogers) and Freedom Mobile have eSIM support but it's no use if the feature is still disabled on the phone itself. The carriers don't have the power to enable the feature on the phone. That's Samsung's responsibility and to date, they haven't made it clear whether or not the S20 series (and to some extent, the S20 FE), will get eSIM support in Canada. The feature is still currently disabled on the phone.

Galaxy SHi Wolverine367, As of now S21 and Note20 (Bell, Rogers, Telus and Wind/Shaw) are the first mobile devices that will support ESIM.
Please note that the ESIM feature will be enabled via a software update.
Additional models will be added to the list as made available.
Thank you.

Galaxy SIs there a release schedule though? Like when will other devices have this feature enabled because I know many of them have the physical hardware inside them but don't support it.

Galaxy SHi Helenna, does this include the S21 FE?
This link references the S21 series but not the S21 FE specifically.

Galaxy SI purchased two S20 Ultra's 1.5 years ago from a Canadian carrier for the camera and with to use the eSim feature. The camera has been great, but the inability to use eSim like many of my colleagues do in the US is very disappointing. Can you please confirm when S20 Ultra's will be added to the list, well over a year after most US carriers have offered that feature?
