Hello,

I’m writing to report a serious issue that started immediately after updating my Galaxy S23 to One UI 7. I came in Canada and I was one of the "lucky ones" to be ìn the rollout percent. The camera quality has dropped significantly: photos are blurry or over-processed, even in good lighting, videos are unstable, with noticeable shakines, night mode and ultra-wide shots look worse than before, focus is slower and often inaccurate.

This makes the phone nearly unusable for taking decent photos or videos while i am on a trip.

Please advise if a fix is coming soon. I have already tried resetting camera settings. Many users are reporting similar problems, so I hope Samsung will address this urgently. Or if a workaround is in place, let me know.

Hi Zanzan313,

We’re truly sorry to hear about the camera performance issues you're encountering after the One UI 7 update on your Galaxy S23.

We understand how frustrating this can be especially when you're traveling and relying on your device to capture important moments.

We recommend the following steps, which may help restore or improve camera performance:

Clear Cache for Camera App. Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear cache. Avoid "Clear data" unless necessary.

Use Samsung Members Diagnostics. Open the Samsung Members app > Support > Phone diagnostics > Camera to check for any underlying hardware-related issues.

Reset Camera Settings. If you haven’t already: open the Camera app > Tap the gear icon (Settings) > Scroll down and tap Reset settings.

Send an Error Report. For a deeper analysis, please send an error log through the Samsung Members app by navigating to Support > Send feedback > Error reports > Camera. Attach sample images or videos if possible—this helps our engineers investigate effectively.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience caused. Rest assured, any degradation in performance is taken seriously, and our teams are working to optimize the experience through future updates.

Thank you.

After the update my camera now makes a fast ticking sound then starts attempting to focus or switching between cameras very fast. Have to exit the camera and reopen. May have 30 sec to get a photo before it does it again.

Same for me, s23, the camera has fewer options, gives overexposed photos
Please give acces to prior version, this is not an hardware issue.

Same here. The UI7 update happened while I was on a trip, which was annoying because delivery used up a lot of data. But more importantly, camera quality is now poor, with excessive noise reduction or maybe AI editing that destroys the resolution. My old S10 is now competitive again. It also seems to be using burst selection, and making poor choices.

After the recent update my S23 ultra does not allow me to use the back camera unless it is on 0.6 magnification and the other magnification the screen is black. The front camera works though. Any advice is appreciated. I reset the camera, deleted the data in the camera app... what else?
