I noticed that when I go to the ( lll ) menu where it shows all my running apps to chose from that are running, closing them off where I flick them upwards or scrolling between them seems to run really slow. Or if I scroll between pages or other things it seems to be not as fast as my old S21 Ultra. I've restarted the phone. I've adjusted the scroll wheel and pointer speed (not even sure what the pointer speed is), and didn't notice any difference. I feel like there was a way to speed up my old phone in developer options but not sure how.
Also I notice my phone freezes alot and apps crash is anybody else experiencing this?

Thx

Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information & Click on the Build Number 7 TIMES to Enable Developer Options.

Open Developer Options & Search for "Animation" > Click on each of these 3 & Change from 1.0x to .5x

I really appreciate this btw. I think I found what you have mentioned but on the S24 I couldn't find animation under the developer options. I found transition animation scale with 1.0 to .5x etc. I believe this is it. Also just 2 other things. Is switching it to .5 making it slower then or faster ? I only ask becasue it's a lower number where I noticed I have options up to 10x from .5x, 1x 1.5 etc to 10x. And the other question I had was after you wrote search for animation, click on these 3 and change. I'm not to sure what you meant by these 3? After I clicked the animation transition that was all it took me to. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again eh

Yeah, videos / music etc aren't affect by these changes.

The lower than number, the faster the animation / transition, so yes .5x is faster than 1x. and animation Off would be the fastest available.

"Window", "Transition" & "Animator" all use a "scale" to determine the speed.

By Searching for "Animation", the screen shot below shows the raw result. I just know which ones to Click on take you where you need to go.

Love this.  Setting animations to off fixing the sluggish slow app closing.  On pixel pro 6 and samsung s9+ app window handle was smooth and quick.  I hate the new UI and even returned an A54 as faulty.  I figured this new S24+ would not have a performance issue.  As it turns out this horrible slowness is on purpose.

Unfortunately after turning developer options off the animation settings were turned back on.  Looks like I need to leave developer options on permanently?  Are there any side effects to that?
