Galaxy SSamsung Mobile devices have two strengths.. Hardware and One UI Skin.
Samsung's Apps are not their strength.
There's between 3.3 and 3.9 Billion Android phones in use.. Google is miles ahead of Android development than Samsung. Reinventing the wheel has never made any sense.

Galaxy SHi angel_1966,
We hear you! Samsung has always been about giving users choice and a seamless experience. With the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Google Messages has been set as the default messaging app in many regions to provide RCS messaging (enhanced texting with read receipts, high-quality media sharing, and better group chats.
Regarding Samsung Contacts, it is still present on your device, but Google Contacts may be set as default. You can check: Open Samsung Contacts → Tap the three-line menu → Manage Contacts → Check sync settings.
We'll continue working to improve our software experience while keeping the features you love. We appreciate your long-term support and will share your feedback with our team!
Thank you.

Galaxy SSome of Samsung's Apps are quite good, ie: Samsung Internet, Smart Things, Samsung Health, Samsung Wallet but Google Assistant, Messages, Contacts, Translate and almost every other App is better..
Would it make any sense for Samsung to develop their own version of Maps.. no, of course not.
Google Messages is far more useful than Samsung's Messages. RCS is fully developed, and compatible with iPhone... pretty sure that Samsung Messages isn't.
Samsung does some things very well, and they should continue to develop their strengths, not try to be all things to all people.
