Recently my s10 screen isn't turning off when I place the phone to my ear during calls.  This is bothering me cause I end up pressing things on the screen, hanging up on the call or texting people.
It seems like the sensor that detects my face against the phone isn't working.
Is anyone else having this problem recently? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Try clean the surface of your screen first. Proximity sensor should be located on top right area on your phone.

If not working, try open Phone app, then input *#77692#

Does Proximity: ON or OFF? (See my screenshot)

If it is ON, press on grey button: Proximity OFF

If it doesn't work, you can try Wipe Cache Partition:

- Power off your phone
- Press and hold Vol up and power key until you are in Recovery mode
- Release both keys
- Use Vol up and down to navigate
- Use Power key to confirm
- Select Wipe Cache Partition
- Select Reboot system

Hi Lara, If there is something interfering with the proximity sensor, the screen may not respond as expected. Are there any third-party accessories like films, cases, stickers, or glass screen protectors attached to the device?

hi Keagan, no there isn't. I removed the screen protector cause I thought that was the issue but apparently not.

Here: Is a solution go to settings> about phone> software information>
This is to turn on developer mode if you don't already have it turned on> Tap build number 7 times until developer mode turns on
- return to settings> scroll down to developer mode> select sensor.

The sensor function is what allows your phone to dim out/the screen to "go off" when you bring it close to your ears.

Press it once, then call to test it; cover the sensor to see by bringing it close to your ear or just using your hands.

Also make sure that if you have a protective case, that's not blocking the sensor.
