Last day i wanted to show super slo-mo video to my nephew but i didn't want him to see other stuff (pics and videos received on what's app and screen shots) so i thought

"going there from my camera> camera roll would be treat" but as i was scrolling through it (now i know 😒😑 )

opened all the pictures and videos on my device.

I had to turn the screen off immediately. That was one embarrassing moment and sort of funny 😂 but i don't want it to happen again. Please patch it or do something about it but separate all the pictures from the camera captured pics, from appearing them in camera roll all together.

Thanks.

Support if you really want the same.

when you open gallery, click on albums and select Camera. In camera folder all camera pictures are there, on picture side all photos are collected together, just like iOS camera roll.
PS: Post it in question mode not suggestion tab as what you want is already there but you don't know it.

In gallery i know but if you open your camera and then go to the pictures(camera roll) - circular icon at the bottom right or left corner ( at the bottom right in s9plus) beside the 'capture button'
You will see "pictures" (all of them all together) rather than camera clicked pictures .

Ps. So suggestion and a question.

Thanks for the reply though.

If you have embarrassing or private pics that might need restricted access, I suggest using Private Mode. Activate it from the notification panel and select which pics to put there. Disable Private mode from the notification panel. Now you'll need an additional, separate password to access this content. This works for files and notes too.

But i have to sort them out manually every time i receive them in WhatsApp. Those adult jokes sorta memes and stuff. If they would just patch something that keeps camera roll pics and all the other pics sorted, that'd be great. Don't you think so?

I don't use WhatsApp but every other messaging application I use creates it's own folder automatically for pictures received from different apps. For example, my hangouts app creates a folder where all my received images go to automatically and same with Facebook messenger. Not sure if it's a WhatsApp specific feature that's missing or not turned on.

Maybe I'm missing something here but when you open the Gallery application there are albums that separate the pictures from screenshots from downloaded pictures, etc.

Your photos from WhatsApp whether you downloaded them or took a screenshot of them should be in a separate folder than your camera pictures/ videos.c06d21a6-15ae-4e76-8b0d-d7dfcbcce4d7.jpg

Yes. I have got the same feature in gallery. Not denying that. But when you open your camera you got that gallery icon somewhere at the bottom which in s9plus happens to be on the right side of your click button. That "camera roll" used to show pictures and videos taken only with "camera". Not any other pictures in the gallery would appear there. But since last couple of android it merges all the pictures with camera taken picture and shows in there.

See that highlighted icon that used to show camera pics only beforehand and now it shows all the pics. If you have a close look the thumbnail pic seen in it is not even clicked by me that's downloaded pic from browser and that's kinda unpleasant to me as i wanted to show super slomo vid. taken with my camera and as it opened all the pictures that was not appropriate for kids.

I have got the separated pics in my gallery though.d38a1e2b-0bba-43e9-a4cf-358036cf9b9a.jpg
