I have an S8 Plus and my wife has the S9 Plus, and we're both on the Bell network.

According to the Bell website, both these phones are compatible with Bell's Advanced Messaging (RCS) services.

However, the messages sent using the default Samsung Messages app are still being sent as standard SMS/MMS texts. This happens even after I force the message styles to "Chat" in settings. According to the Bell website, both of these phones should default to the RCS.

Any ideas why Advanced Messaging is not working?

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately, still no luck. I'll try to see if Bell tech support has a solution...🤞

Yes I did. According to the website below, Advanced Messaging is automatically enabled on both the S8 Plus and the S9 Plus.

it does not work on my phone, I am also with Bell but got my S9 from Samsung...so that could be why.
