Turning off SIM card on Galaxy S20 FE

I am about to purchase an e-SIM for a trip and will need to turn off my existing SIM card temporarily.  I have found the on-line instructions seem not to apply to my phone.  What steps do I need to follow to switch off (or back on) my existing SIM card once I have installed an e-SIM?? Perhaps I simply remove the existing SIM card?

Canadian version of the S20 FE does not support e-SIM.

As said by RobertZ, unfortunately the Canadian version of the Galaxy S20 FE does not support e-SIM.
